John Grady Jaros was the fourth son of Stephen and Martha Jaros, and brother to Stephen, Christopher, and David. He was a graduate Civil Engineer. His birth took place on October 28, 1968 at Holy Cross Hospital, Silver Spring, MD and his death occurred on June 4, 2021 at The Rucki Hospice Care Center, Zephyrhills West, FL.
His childhood and intermediate years were spent in the suburban Maryland area of Washington, D.C., residing with parents and brothers, initially, in Bowie, MD and then with them for a decade in Upper Marlboro, MD, prior to the Family moving to Temple Terrace, FL. During these formative years he was baptized and confirmed in the Roman Catholic faith, which he practiced during the remainder of his life.
He attended public schools, in both Maryland and Florida, thru Grade 12, graduating from King High School (Temple Terrace) as both a varsity football and basketball player, before becoming a student at The University of Central Florida (Orlando) and then transferring to The University of South Florida (Tampa) for the completion of his higher education with the achievement of a B.S.C.E. degree. During these “schooling years” John was employed by Busch Gardens (Tampa) as an entertainer.
After completing an engineering “internship” with the Southwest Florida Water Management District, he then entered on a self-employment path using his civil engineering skills to provide consultative services. Later, John was employed by Papa John’s Corporation in several capacities. John lived his life to the fullest, liked by all who were blessed with his acquaintance, and a wonderful source of pleasure for his immediate Family members and clients with his always “ready to help” attitude and availability.
Although never having married, John enjoyed a lasting and loving relationship with his partner for many years, Melanie, who also was his main “caregiver” during an unsuccessful attempt to overcome a relentlessly fatal disease. John has now escaped the “clutches” of this “deadly foe” and is free to find other “avenues” for his so personable spirit.
John is survived by his father and mother, Stephen and Martha Jaros (Temple Terrace), two brothers, namely, Stephen, wife Kim (Baton Rouge, LA), and Christopher (Delray Beach, FL), several uncles, aunts, and cousins located in the states of Pennsylvania and Illinois. Also, John has numerous cousins residing in the country of Slovakia and Eastern Europe. His brother David was deceased in the year of 2014.
A "bereavement wake" will be held at the Blount and Curry Funeral Home (12690 N.56th Street, Temple Terrace), Friday, June 11, 6 - 8P.M. A Mass of Celebration will be performed at Corpus Christi Catholic Church (9715 N. 56th Street, Temple Terrace), Saturday, June 12, 12:30PM followed by a 2PM burial in Sunset Memory Gardens (Thonotosassa, FL).
“Eternal rest grant unto John Grady, O Lord, and let perpetual Light shine upon him, Amen”
