

John was born on November 15, 1938 to William and Cecilia Reeber in Bronx, New York. He and Barbara met at a dance in Manhattan in June 1961 and were later married on September 1, 1962.
They started their lives together in New York and lived there until moving to Tampa in 1972.
John was a parishioner of St. Lawrence Catholic Church for over fifty years and enjoyed the countless hours he spent as an active member of St. Lawrence Parents Club, Wellswood Little League, Jesuit Dads Club and Knights of Columbus.
John was an avid Tampa sports fan. He was an original Bucs season ticketholder and loved the Lightning. He retired from Tampa Electric Company after twenty-eight years, and was an original employee at the Ice Palace/Tampa Bay Times Forum/Amalie Arena from the opening night in 1996 until retiring at age 80 in 2019.
John is survived by his wife, Barbara and their four children, John, Peter, James and Mary, as well as sisters, Dolores McVey and Cecelia Walz (Bill).
John has three lovely granddaughters, Ashley Hobson (George), Dania Engel (Corey), and Lola Reeber. John has five great-grandchildren who loved to be entertained by their “Peeps” and laugh with him.
John also has twenty-four nieces and nephews and was preceded in death by his siblings, William Jr., Lorraine, Mary and Grace.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Lawrence Catholic Church.
The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. A funeral mass will immediately follow at 11:00 A.M. Graveside services will be held at Garden of Memories Cemetery at 1:00 P.M.
