John Edward Speziale (6/6/44 – 10/6/19)
John, beloved husband to Sandra; father to Cheri, Cheryl, Lisa, and George; grandfather to Shana, Tyler, Emma, Derek, and Paige; great-grandfather to Bradley; son to Hector and Mary Speziale; brother to Nola Speziale, died peacefully Sunday October 6th, 2019 after complications of Alzheimer’s disease.
John was born and raised in Simsbury Connecticut. During his military career he lived in Alabama and Texas. Followed by Colorado, Indiana, Georgia, Minnesota, and Florida with his career in insurance sales. He lived his last 32 years with his wife, Sandra, in their family home, in their favorite neighborhood of ‘Old Carrollwood’, in Tampa, Florida.
He loved his role as patriarch and regaled his family and friends with grand stories of his adventures. In addition to loving his wife and children very much, he loved fast cars, golf, politics, the United States Military, and the many pets-both domestic and feral- that had the good fortune to be taken into their home.
In 1971 John received an honorable discharge after a seven-year career from the US Army; in which he held the rank of Staff Sergeant. The remainder of his professional life was spent as an executive in multiple health and life insurance companies. His last professional days were spent at Suncoast Insurance. John had the good fortune of meeting Sandra in the industry and they became a team both at work and at home.
John is survived by his children; Cheri, Cheryl, Lisa, and George; his sons-in-law Jim, Matt, and Troy; his grandchildren Shana, Tyler, Emma, Derek, and Paige; and his great-grandson Bradley.
