Joseph E. Chruby, 60, of East Chicago, passed away on February 15th, 2023 in Tampa. Joseph was born East Chicago, Illinois to Leo Chruby & Charlotte Boncela. He attended school at Munster, Indiana and was very devoted to his Catholic faith. In June of 1984, Joseph married the love of his life, Patty in Tampa, Florida.
Prior to retirement, Joseph was a manager for Haverty's Furniture for 12 years. He was a veteran and served in the United States Navy. In his free time, he enjoyed cooking, bowling, playing the drums and listening to Lynyrd Skynyrd.
He was preceded in death by his son, Thomas A. Chruby; parents; two brothers and one sister.
Joseph is survived by his wife, Patty Chruby; daughter, Katie Chruby and nephew, Blake Riollano.
A visitation will be held 2:00-3:00pm on March 18, 2023 at the Blount & Curry FUneral Home- Carrollwood Chapel with the funeral service to start at 3:00pm. A gathering will continue after the service until 6:00pm.
