

Fortune, Kathleen Penrod, 68, native of Lexington, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2017 after a valiant fight with Wegener’s Disease. Kathy was owner of Managed Assets Plus in Tampa for many years. After acquiring her teaching degree two years ago, Kathy taught at Frost Elementary School in Riverview fulfilling her life long dream of being a teacher and making a difference in children’s lives. She treasured every moment spent with her students. Kathy will be remembered for her love of family and life and her love of history and of “all things Princess Diana.” Kathy was the widow of Ronald L. Fortune. She is survived by her sons, Ronald L. Fortune, Jr. and Christopher S. Fortune of Tampa; sister-in-law and friend, Nita Hopson of Richmond,Virginia and many relatives in Kentucky, Virginia and Nevada. She will be forever missed by all who loved her. There will be a Remembrance for Kathy at Blount & Curry Funeral Home Carrollwood Chapel, 3207 W.
