Ms. Kathryn Staten Hawkins

HAWKINS, Kathryn Staten, 88 of Tampa, passed away June 5, 2014. She was born in Aflex, Kentucky, May 29, 1926, to Elmer and Eva Staten. She married Carl W. Hawkins on December 22, 1950 and worked for the Lorado Coal Company in West Virginia until they moved to Florida in 1960. In Florida, she worked for Maas Brothers. She was preceded in death by both parents, husband, brother Elmer Staten Jr., sisters Aileen Staten Vickers and Shirley Staten Walls. She is survived by her sons Carl W. Hawkins, Jr. (Cynthia) and James Hawkins (Garnett); daughter Nancy Hawkins Fazioli; and five grandsons Carl W. Hawkins III (Evelyn), Joseph Fazioli (Chelesa), Daniel Fazioli, Jordan and Cameron Hawkins. She is also survived by her brother Edsel Staten of Barbourville, WV, and four sisters Billie Jean Staten Barton of Teays Valley, WV, Wilma Staten Toler (Dwight) of Oceana, WV, Elizabeth Staten Toler of Gilbert, WV, and Rita Joe Staten Moore of Hot Springs, Arkansas. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM, Monday, June 9, at Blount and Curry Funeral Home, Carrollwood Chapel, 3207 Bearss Avenue. A private graveside service will take place for the immediate family. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
