Keith Elden Rohde IV

March 12, 1996August 5, 2018

Keith Elden Rohde IV, 22, of Lutz, passed away Sunday August 5, 2018 due to a boating accident right off of Davis Islands.

Keith was born March 12, 1996 in Tampa, FL. Growing up, he attended Villa Madonna School and graduated from Steinbrenner High School playing many sports with his favorites being football and rugby. After high school Keith received a scholarship to play football at the University of Mount Union in Ohio, however, his love for Florida and his longing to be with his family never subsided. After 2 years he came home to finish his AA degree and was working towards his bachelors at the University of South Florida. Keith had a fierce love for the outdoors, downtown Tampa where he worked at eBoats, and the waters of Florida where he fished and boated almost daily. Keith's reach in the community was wide and he had deep relationships with so many. His beautiful smile, his helpful nature and loving spirit will be tremendously missed by his family and friends.

Keith is survived by his mother and step-father Maria and Mitch Eckley, his loving sister Savannah Rohde, father Keith Rohde III, grandparents Flor de Lourdes Diaz, Robert Guerette, Vicki and Keith Rohde Jr and Rebecca Eckley. He is preceded in death by his grandfathers Noel Richard Giallanza, Armando Valdes and Lawrence Edward Eckley as well as his Aunt Natalie Giallanza.

A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, August 11, 2018 at the Tampa Convention Center officiated by Sister Mary Jackson of Villa Madonna. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Coral Restoration Foundation, a cause Keith deeply cared about, in his honor.

Keith was such a true blessing in all our lives. When I close my eyes I can see his big beautiful smile and the sparkle in his eyes. I treasure many happy memories of him as a kid running laughing and playing. His face kissed by the sun. Time goes by so fast and as he grew he made us all so proud to have the pleasure of being part of his life. Keith had a gift of connecting with people. He made you feel special. When he spoke to you it felt like there was no other place in the world he rather be. It was such a joy to be around him. Today and always my heart is with his family our true and dear friends who I have always loved as my very own. Rest in Peace Keithy.

What can I say about our good friend Keithy...
Everything that comes to mind has already been said and repeated many many times, this is because he's such a genuine and caring person. He clearly treats everybody he meets the same way, with his upmost respect and willingness to connect and understand. He has inspired me to become a better man, a more sensitive yet strong individual. Before we met, Mikey would describe his two cousins from Tampa like they were some sort of mythological legend, he would tell us stories in great detail. I basically had this knowledge of Keith before meeting him, I had my image of him and his personality already etched out in my mind. When we finally met, I was a bit hesitant to go up and give him a hug because he didn't know me at all and he was just absolutely massive next to me so I was a bit intimidated. So I just stayed back and analyzed his cousins and Mikey was right about every single detail. Keith was a huge sweetheart (literally), extremely caring and had this intense passion for the outdoors, fishing and boating specifically. Savannah was the cooler one but she shared the same core characteristics, you can tell they were siblings right away. My point is, all my insecurities vanished as I got to meet them, Keith had a way of establishing a comfortable space everywhere he went, I don't know if it was his charismatic personality or that smile that radiated for miles. Rest in peace Keith, and to the family all I have to say is I love every single one of you deeply, Mitch, Maria, Savannah, Abuela, Mimi, and everyone else that embraced me with open arms. I will keep everyone in my heart forever, you've all made an impact in my life and Keith is watching down with pride at the love and strength his family embodies. Thank you for your unconditional friendship Keith, I'll try my best to become a better man in your honor.

Keithy is no ordinary man. He is the fourth member of an extraordinary family built firmly on love and support. Keithy was born into loving arms that nurtured his good and tender spirit. As everyone knows, he was always eager to lend a helping hand, his devotion to uplifting others came naturally to him. I'd say that most of us have lingering thoughts about things that we could and should be doing for our loved ones. Not Keithy, he lived purely through his heart and would always be found by the side of all who needed him. People tend to be hesitant in reaching out for help from others. Keith was infamous for his selflessness and exuded a sense of comfort that was contagious; everyone felt that they could call on Keith and confide in him for support of any kind. I will always love and admire Keith and I know that he will continue to support and care for all of us, as he proudly and happily always has. I love you Keith, Mitch, Maria, and Savy. Your family is forever in my heart.

Our memories of Keith are that of a kind, happy and loving young man that was always friendly and respectful. When our nephew and his wife, Mitch and Maria, were married we were so happy for their young family. We watched Keith grow from a young boy into a young man, who was always so close to his sister, Savannah, and his loving family. His smile was a constant and he was so willing to help others. His love of the sea was obvious with his enjoyment of boating and fishing, and his concern for preserving the coral reefs. It makes us sad that his young life has ended so soon, but he will remain in our hearts forever. Our love and prayers go out to family and friends at this most difficult time, Uncle Mitch and Aunt Megi

My condolences go out to Keith's family. We worked near each other outside of the convention center. Keith radiated happiness and was one of the friendliest people I have met. He was always a pleasure to run into around work and I can't think of him without picturing his huge, sparkling smile.

I will miss you Keith. Xo
