

LIGHTFOOT, Omar Kenneth Jr., 91, of Tampa, was born March 21, 1929 in Kansas City, MO. A Florida resident for 80 years, he passed away peacefully April 17, 2020. Ken is survived by his loving wife Luzette, née Sarcone, sister Lorraine LiCalsi (Anthony), children Brenda Lightfoot, Don Lightfoot (Josie), Andrea Hicks (Gareth), Averie Storck (David), 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. He was much loved by his family, friends and acquaintances and is greatly missed.
Ken graduated from the University of Miami and proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. In 1954, he settled in Tampa and began a long and successful career that includes: Owner/ President of Ken Lightfoot Realty, Inc. for over 60 years; twice President of the Tampa Board of Realtors; a Legislative Advocate for the Board; President of the Temple Terrace Optimist Club, Rotary Club and Temple Terrace Chamber of Commerce, which named him Citizen of the Year. Ken served on the Exchange Bank of Temple Terrace Board of Directors and was a charter member of the Temple Terrace Golf & Country Club. For the last 48 years, he was instrumental in the growth and development of University Community Hospital, now AdventHealth Tampa, serving as Chairman of the Board for 5 years. He continued serving on the AdventHealth Carrollwood Board of Directors until his death.
Ken loved sports particularly the Miami Hurricanes and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, which he supported enthusiastically with season tickets. He was a great dancer, appreciated music, art, and nature. He loved a good joke. He will always be remembered for his bright smile and kind heart.

The family welcomes relatives and friends who would like to attend a Memorial Prayer Service in Ken’s honor. The Service will be held on Friday, July 24, 2PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 509 N. Florida Ave., Tampa, 33602. Sacred Heart adheres to strict COVID guidelines for those wishing to attend.
The guidelines to follow are:
• Please use the Florida Ave. main door for all entry. For persons needing assistance and use of the ramp, the Twiggs Street entry can be opened. Indicate that to one of the ushers outside at the main door.
• Sanitize your hands upon entry and leaving the church. There are several sanitizing stations inside the church as you enter.
• You must wear a protective mask while in the church.
• Please follow the usher’s direction regarding seating.
• Respect and maintain the 6-foot social-distancing guideline from others who are not in your household.
Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, the family will not be receiving guests at a visitation prior to the service and will not be hosting a reception following.
