When Bruce Springsteen lost a member of his band, he wrote a song that basically said, "When they you made you, brother, they broke the mold." Lamar was my close friend for seven years. We enjoyed hiking adventures and misadventures and enjoyed socializing. There is no one to replace him in our lives, because when they made him, they broke the mold, but we are so glad that we knew him, and he added so much to our lives. Our thoughts are always with his family, and he'll never be forgotten.

I went to grade school with Lamar. He remained a close friend throughout. He was always a fun and close friend. I know he'll be missed by all.

Patsy,
Our deepest sympathies are with you and all of Lamar’s family during this difficult time. Lamar was not only a co-worker for over 35 years, but he was a father figure, a mentor and an overall great friend to so many. For those of us that had the privilege of calling him “friend” outside of work, we were humbled by his kindness and compassion to everyone around him. His memories will remain forever in our hearts! Rest In Peace my dear friend, Lisa and extended family

Patsy, I’m so saddened to hear about Lamar’s passing. I have so many fond memories of him coaching our softball team. We have so many opportunities in life to make an impact on others and Lamar was able to do this with ease. I’m thankful to have had the opportunity to know him and be mentored and coached by him and equally thankful to have been a part of the circle of friends in the Terrace that made growing up there so special. You, Brooke, Cameron, and your families are in our thoughts and in our hearts, and please know that we are sharing our memories of Lamar with our families. With all our love, Jeanabeth and family.

Uncle (lamarla) Lamar was a jokester, from camping at Betties creek/ Andy's trout farm, Ringer camp ground in the rain and Indian springs with the girl scouts. Asking me to smoke his pipe, after I got caught with cigarettes by my parents. He lived life looking for fun...

My condolences to Patsy, Lamar's children, grandchildren, dear friends and long-time associates. Lamar was a fixture in our industry and he taught a few of us some important things about our business that not many understood. He was stern businessman who always knew the value of what he was selling, but always helped his friends and loyal customers when they needed a break. I learned a great deal from Lamar in the over 35 years I knew him and will remember him fondly.
Rest in peace old friend.
