Larry O. Deal was born in Tampa, Florida on August 7, 1946 and passed away at age 76 from complications of cancer and heart problems on January 1, 2023. Larry is survived by his beloved fiancée and constant companion, Elizabeth Noetzel; one son, Richard Deal (Karen); four grandchildren, Shineigh Brooke Deal, Lacey Castillo, Nathan Castillo, and Kaitlyn Belcher; two brothers, Timmy Deal and Terry Deal; one sister, Sandra Deal Ellis; one brother-in-law and close friend, David Ellis; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and a substantial list of friends, many of whom were lifelong. Larry was born and raised in Tampa, where he lived for many years. Upon retirement approximately 20 years prior, he moved to Lake Wales, Florida to do what he loved to do most: fishing. Larry loved freshwater fishing, deep-sea fishing, diving for lobsters, air boating, four-wheeling, and hunting.
Larry was well-regarded wherever he went and over the course of his life gathered an extensive list of friends. He was notably generous, always putting the needs and interests of others above his own. Those who knew him remember him as a great man who blessed the world in untold ways. While not a notably religious man, Larry held a firm faith in and relationship with God, in Whose arms he now rests, healed and whole.
A funeral service for Larry will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Blount & Curry Funeral Home at Garden of Memories, 4207 East Lake Avenue, Tampa, Florida. Private interment in Myrtle Hill Memorial Park, Tampa, Florida. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.
