Laura Cameron West, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2026 at the age of 62 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on December 31, 1963, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and later made her home in Tampa, Florida, where she built a life centered on faith, family, service, and compassion.
Laura was the beloved daughter of Dolores and Bertram Cameron. She earned her Master’s degree in Audiology from the University of South Florida and faithfully served her community as an audiologist since 1993. Beyond her profession, Laura embraced her most treasured roles as a devoted wife, loving mother, caring sister, and loyal friend.
She found great joy in bringing people together—hosting gatherings filled with warmth, baking for those she loved, and serving others both in her community and at church, where she volunteered every Sunday. Laura’s life reflected a deep and unwavering faith, and she trusted that her story would encourage and uplift others.
Those who were blessed to know Laura will remember her as a woman with an extraordinarily generous heart. She loved unconditionally, gave selflessly, and continued to put others before herself even while facing profound personal challenges. Her strength throughout her illness revealed a steadfast spirit and a zealous love for life, grounded in her faith in the Lord. Laura’s legacy of kindness, service, and enduring love will continue to live on in all who knew her.
Laura is survived by her devoted husband, Mark West; her daughters, Rachel and Melissa West; her older sister, Diane Baer; and her younger brother, Steven Cameron. She was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by her family, friends, colleagues, and all whose lives she touched.
A Celebration of Laura’s Life will be held on March 1, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. at Grace Family Church, 5100 W Waters Ave, Tampa, FL 33634.
