Lawrence Edwin McCreary

Lawrence Edwin McCreary, 78, passed away on January 3, 2023. Larry was born and raised in Tampa, Florida to parents William and Marjorie McCreary. He was a graduate of Chamberlain High School, class of 1962 and the following year, Larry joined the United States Army Reserves where he proudly served his country. Larry’s career took him to continue to serve as a process server for the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s department for 23 years. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, and playing cards. Larry was often seen in one of his famous Hawaiian shirts doing what he loved the most, spending time with his family and most importantly his grandkids.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, William and Marjorie McCreary.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jackie McCreary; his children, Larry McCreary (Shelley), Troy McCreary (Kelly-Jo), and Christine Fonte (David); his grandchildren, Gracie Fonte, Madelyn Fonte, David Fonte Jr, Cole McCreary, Mackenzie McCreary and Cierra Papademetriou; twin sister, Mary McCreary; along with many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.

A funeral service to honor Larry will take place at 11am on Friday, January 13, 2023 at Blount and Curry Carrollwood Funeral Home located at 3207 W. Bearss Ave. Tampa, FL. 33618. The family will receive friends one hour prior.
