Leslie H. Palmer III was born in Fayetteville, West Virginia to Leslie H. Palmer II and Luemma J. Palmer on November 1, 1944. He graduated from Henry B. Plant high school class of 1963.
Les Palmer was the true definition of a family man. He always supported his family by attending many
events no matter how far. From sporting events to birthday parties, band concerts, graduations and all
other holidays. He loved nothing more than spending time with family and friends. Les loved his
grandchildren very much. His grandchildren awarded him the title of number #1 Papa. Les loved sitting
in a room with his two daughters and grandchildren while telling old stories. His stories were unlike any
you have ever heard of. Les was a kind hearted person. He had a smile that could light up a room and a
laugh that was extremely contagious. No matter where we were he would always find a way to put a
smile on everyone’s face.
Thanksgiving was his favorite holiday, he loved to eat plate after plate. He loved nothing more than a
plate filled with homemade food. Family was the most important thing to Les.. He cherished his three
daughters, five granddaughters and great grandson.
Les Palmer always talked about Henry B. Plant high school and golf. He was involved with Plant high
school many years after he graduated. He attended reunions at plant high school and always made sure
he kept in touch with old friends by getting together with them and having lunch. Les loved playing and
watching golf. Every time he left the house he was always well dressed. He would wear a golfing shirt
with a matching hat. He was a huge Elvis Presley fan and even went to a concert with his brother in his
early 20’s. His friends and family will miss him dearly. We love you #1Papa, Rest In Peace.
