Linda was a member of the founding family of what is now known as Lake Magdalene Church and a lifelong member. She was a homemaker and, over the years, worked at the Citrus Exchange as a secretary, an organist at her church, sold Avon, and retired from the City of Temple Terrace as a secretary in 1997. She enjoyed family gatherings along with baking cookies and making crafts. Many people she met were treated to their choice of her crocheted butterflies (that most likely still sit on their refrigerator door), and of course, her cookies were always available in the Cookie Jar. One of her greatest personal accomplishments that she took great pride in was the three family books that she worked on and had published. They consisted of the Bearss family, which was compiled and published by Linda and her cousin Nancy (Parker) Dawson in 1987, the second book of the Bearss Family compiled and published by Linda in 1995, and the Stall family book compiled and published by Linda in 1998. She was also quite the seamstress; she made several wedding gowns, including her own, one for a nephew’s wife and daughter-in-law, Marie, as well as all the girls’ dresses, including her own.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Robert G., her parents Lloyd Sr and Lela (Stall) Hayes, her sister Alice (Hayes) Fernandez, and nephews Bobby and Tommy Fernandez.
She is survived by sons; Michael (Marie) Riverview and Joseph (Kathy-Jo) Land O’ Lakes. Two grandsons, Kevin Briegel (Cassie) and Shawn Briegel, a great granddaughter, Isabelle, and a great grandson, Colton, in Colorado. A brother, Lloyd Nelson Hayes Jr (Ginny), brothers-in-law, Wayne, Lynn (Doris), Donald, Tom (Sue); several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Interment will be in Lake Carroll Cemetery, along with her husband, Robert G.
