Loretta Clare Thomason

Lt. Colonel (retired U.S. Air Force) Loretta (Blaskiewicz) Thomason age 87, of Tampa, FL, formerly of Pittsburgh, PA, on Thursday, June 12, 2025. Loretta had a distinguished career as a U.S. Air Force nurse after graduating from St. Francis Hospital Nursing School in Pittsburgh, PA. She served admirably for several years in Southeast Asia during the Viet Nam conflict. Daughter of the late William & Stella Blaskiewicz. Loretta is survived by her sister Irene Kotlarz, brothers Richard Blaskiewicz and Robert (June) Blaskiewicz, preceded in death by the late Dolores Barry (sister) Stella Karcher (sister) and William Blaskiewicz (brother); also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on July 7, 2025 in Loretta’s memory at St. Paul’s Church, 12708 N Dale Mabry Hwy, Tampa, FL 33618, followed by a military burial at 1 p.m. at Bushnell National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fl.
