Lorita Ann Singleton

Lorita Ann Chastain was born on December14, 1943 in Columbus, Indiana to Bruce Irvin and Margaret Elizabeth (Johns) Chastain. She spent her formative years at Columbus enjoying 4H, spending time in the summer with Grandmother Chastain on her farm in Salem, IN. She loved going to high school basketball games. She and her family were members of the Church of Christ in Columbus, where she was baptized.

Lorita graduated from Columbus Senior High in 1962. She then went to Florida College in Temple Terrace, FL from 1962-1964. She later attended Indiana Business College in Columbus . She was employed at multiple businesses in Columbus, using her business skills.

While in Tampa, she married Benjamin Allen Singleton in 1983, and moved back to Athens when he passed away in 1999.

In 2007 she returned to Tampa where she lived the rest of her life.

Lorita was a member of the Henderson Blvd. Church of Christ for the last decade of her life. She treasured her time with the brethren, worshiping and going out to lunch on Sundays with whoever had given her a ride to church. She enjoyed any opportunities to associate with her brothers and sisters in Christ.
