Lucy Piccirillo-Olds was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, wife and friend. Born Lucille Elizabeth Governale on November 19th, 1935 in Raritan Township, New Jersey, she lived 89 years before god brought her up to her eternal resting place.
Lucy was an extremely hard worker, expecting nothing from no one, but always gave as much as she could. Her love, kindness, generosity, and consistency impacted countless lives over eight decades.
She married at 18, and had her only child Anthony in 1956. After some time, she moved to Florida and worked for GTE from 1981 – 1999 and University Community Hospital from 1999 – 2014 with her friends Patricia Bland, Anne Vanater and Alydia Thompson.
From 2014 – 2020 Lucy worked at the Shriner’s Hospital, finally retiring at 85, putting all she had into her career for over 70 years.
In 1990 she met John Olds and they remained together until his passing in 2015. He was the love of her life. They traveled all over the world including Italy, Australia, Brazil, France and Chile to name a few. She was blessed to find her soul mate. He treated her wonderfully and she loved him dearly.
Lucy is survived by her son Anthony, grandchildren Philip (his wife Christina and step-son Christopher), Adrian and Gina, as well as great-grandchildren Isabella, Augustine and Abigail; niece Nadine Acosta, best friend Dorothy, and great friends she worked with all those years. Lucy was a faithful believer in Christ, and there is no doubt her good works on earth earned her spot in heaven.
John 11:25-26 says, “Jesus says to her, I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me, even though they die, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die.”
A graveside service for Lucille will be held Sunday, January 19, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Garden of Memories, 4389 E Lake Ave, Tampa, FL 33610.
