HIZA, Luetta 96, of Charlotte, North Carolina died Thursday, December 6, 2018. A native of New York State, she was a resident of Binghamton, New York, until moving to Tampa, Florida in 1957. She was a resident of Tampa for 48 years. She became a resident of Charlotte in 2006. Luetta was a hard working stay-at-home mom raising five children. In Tampa she worked for Hillsborough County School Lunchroom System for 11 years; was a sales associate for Luria’s Department Store for 10 years; and a caregiver of little children at Leto High School Daycare for 14 years. She retired from the workforce at the age of 81. Luetta was a lifelong Lutheran with memberships at Accension Lutheran in Binghamton, New York; St. Paul Lutheran in Tampa, Florida; Spirit of Joy Lutheran in Weddington, North Carolina; and Morning Star Lutheran in Matthews, North Carolina.
Luetta is survived by two sons, Stephen of Tampa, Florida, and David of Indian Trail, North Carolina, and three daughters, Judith Parsons of Ramstein, West Germany, Susan Becker of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Margaret Tillis of Oldsmar, Florida; 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
The Hiza family will receive friends, at 2 pm, Sunday, December 16th at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4207 E. Lake Avenue, Tampa, Florida followed by service at the funeral home chapel at 3 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Memorial Funds of Morning Star Lutheran Church in Matthews, North Carolina, or St. Paul Lutheran Church in Tampa, Florida.
