

He was born December 1, 1941, in Floral, Arkansas to Luther Winston and Mattie (Roberts) Hutchison. He was a graduate of the 1962 class at Harry Ells High School in Richmond, California.
He married Martha Erna Simkaitis on July 3, 1965, in Tampa, Florida. Luther began his military career in the Army and moved to the Air Force shortly after enlisting. He was stationed in many places, including Turkey and Greenland. He was awarded numerous medals and honors while serving – National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 3 Bronze Service Stars, Air Force Presidential Unit Citation, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, and Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon. Luther proudly served his country as an Air Traffic Controller and retired as a Master Sergeant in 1980, with over 20 years of faithful service.
After retirement, Luther went on to work at various jobs while also devoting time to his family. You would often see him on the baseball field watching his son and/or daughter playing ball.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Martha, for over 52 years.
He is survived by his son Eric William (Laura), daughter Laura Jimenez (Raymond), grandchildren Madison (Richardson), Eric, Andrew, and Will, as well as two great-grandchildren, Nate William and Callie Jan.
Luther will be deeply missed and forever held in the hearts of those who loved him.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 23, at Blount & Curry Funeral Home on Bearss Avenue in Tampa, Florida, with visitation at 10:00 am and service at 11:00. He will be laid to rest at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell at 1:00 pm. with full military honors.
