Born and raised in Tampa, Florida, Lydia was a proud graduate of Hillsborough High School, Class of 1946. She went on to dedicate many years of service as a clerk in the Department of Testing and Advanced Placement at the University of South Florida.
Above all, Lydia’s greatest joy was her family. She loved spending time with those closest to her and was affectionately known as a second mom to many beyond her immediate family. In her leisure time, she enjoyed tending to her yard, sewing gifts for others, cooking, creating paint-by-number artwork, and cheering on the Tampa Bay Rays during their broadcasts and cheering on the great-grand boys during their soccer games.
Lydia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles R. Temple; her son, Charles R. Temple, Jr.; her brothers, Arnold DelValle and Raymund DelValle; and her parents, Alejandro and Caridad DelValle.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Cheryl Dafeldecker and Dora O'Rorke; her son-in-law, George Bauer; her cherished grandchildren, Erin Mellnick, Jaclyn O'Rorke, Carson O'Rorke, and Colin Dafeldecker; her great-grandchildren, Logan Mellnick and Brooks Mellnick; her cousin, Don Otero; along with many extended family members and friends who loved her dearly.
