Lyle Craig Loher, 58, of Wesley Chapel, passed away November 1st 2017 after many years of debilitating illnesses. Lyle was born at Mitchell AFB in West Hempstead, Long Island, New York On August 24, 1959. As a child, he moved around quite a bit following his Dad’s Coast Guard career. His family settled in St. Petersburg where he graduated from Lakewood High School in 1978. He was a member of the band and played the trumpet. He started his career in the printing industry, learning to repair printing equipment which led him to a long service career. He was a dedicated and loyal employee for Capital Machine in Brandon for 33 years and was the first employee there starting as a salesman and completing his career as the Service Manager with over 20 employees. They were and are his second family. It is difficult to find just one adjective to describe Lyle. He was fiercely loyal, kind but stern, loving and soft and went out of his way to help complete strangers who then quickly became friends. He was a prankster and loved a good joke often at the expense of one of his many family members. He was a dirt bike rider, motorcycle rider, computer geek and “fixer” of all things-there was nothing he couldn’t do. But most of all, he was a solid family man. He loved his wife, he loved his kids, he loved his parents and siblings and cousins, he loved his friends and was generous to a fault both of his time and finances. He is predeceased by his mother Doris Loher and his brother Bruce Loher. He is survived by his father Victor Loher, wife Carla, sons Dylan Loher and Chris (Maria) Plasencia, brothers Vic (Ilfra) Loher and Brian (Marlen) Loher, sisters Karen Loesch and Doris (Rick) Cargo, as well as multiple nieces, nephews and cousins. A Memorial Service is scheduled for November 11th, 2017 at 2pm, located at Blount and Curry Funeral home on Bearss Avenue in Tampa. If you come, please know that he would love to have you share your fondest memories of your time(s) with him and will have an opportunity to do so. In lieu of flowers, as Lyle was not fond of them, please send a donation in his name to the Metropolitan Ministries. Special thanks to Capital Machine Technologies who supported Lyle through all of his illnesses and knew who he was and what he needed-we will be forever grateful.
