Marilyn was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri where she met and married Donald Ross in 1959. They were married for 57 years until Don’s passing in 2016. Together they raised a beautiful family, moving to Tampa in 1966.
Marilyn was a loving wife, mother and devoted homemaker spending most of her life raising and caring for her family. Periodically, she would also work as an administrative assistant where she could employ her keen sense of organization to the workplace. It was often said, “If you want it done right, give it to Marilyn.”
She belonged and participated in various women’s organizations earlier in her life, always enjoying the comradery and participating in the group’s community support initiatives. It was an opportunity for her to share the importance of giving back with her children.
Marilyn is preceded in death by her mother, Helen Kania; her sister, Charlotte Welch; and her loving husband, Donald Ross. She is survived by her son, Michael Ross (Lisa); her daughter, Lisa Ross-Rodgers (Liz); and her grandchildren, Sydney Ross, Carson Ross, and Noah Shelton.
The family will be holding a private ceremony but asks that any memorial contributions be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association in remembrance of Marilyn.
Our family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to those who have offered condolences and shared fond memories of Marilyn.
