Marjorie Watts

June 29, 1935 – January 6, 2024
Obituary of Marjorie Watts
IN THE CARE OF

Blount & Curry Funeral Home-Carrollwood

January 6, 2024, Marjorie Watts was welcomed into God’s embrace. Any of us that knew her knew she was quite the character. Full of fun and mischief, silly, and affectionate, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend with such a great sense of humor.

Growing up, it was not odd to see my mother dance around with the feather duster singing at the top of her lungs to the YMCA Village People song. Or to be woken up on school days with her singing Carmen Miranda’s Chiquita Banana song with a bunch of bananas held up above her head. All silliness aside, she truly encouraged self-confidence and to believe in yourself. The warmth of her smile and strong hugs will be memories forever not forgotten.

Before Marge met her husband, Bob, she worked for the telephone company in New York City. She cherished the days working for the telephone company but soon realized after marrying that being a wife, mother, homemaker and tending to her family was her true happiness.

Marge was a member of Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in East Islip, a member of the Order of Hibernians, a member of the PTA, a volunteer poll worker for many years in Suffolk County. Marge also worked for AGSIM’s Balloon Race which she recruited donations for the endowment fund. She loved the holidays and enjoyed cooking for family and friends, loved to read, travel, her wine, and was a huge Mickey Mouse fan. She read a newspaper front to back and was up to date on any political news. As a teenager she spent time at the local roller rink, she was still a fantastic skater well into her 70’s!

Marge is now reunited with family and friends that she has not seen in a long time and is survived by her daughters Jill and Karen, numerous nieces and nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, and son Bobby.

Family and friends are invited to share beautiful memories Feb 4th at 11AM–1 PM at Blount and Curry 3207 W. Bearss Ave Tampa FL
