“Where words fail, music speaks.” — Hans Christian Andersen
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mark Lorne Coolidge, who departed this life on July 15, 2025, at the age of 45.
Born on November 26, 1979, Mark was a proud graduate of Gaither High School. He later distinguished himself at Keiser University, where he achieved Dean’s List honors and was inducted into Phi Theta Kappa for his academic excellence. Mark honorably served in the United States Marine Corps, where he brought passion and precision to his role in the Marine Corps Band.
A gifted musician fluent in many instruments, Mark was profoundly moved by the emotional power of melody. His artistry reflected both discipline and soul, resonating with all who had the privilege of hearing him play.
Mark’s creative spirit extended beyond music and into the kitchen, where he found joy as a devoted home cook. His meals were thoughtful, comforting, and unmistakably his—offered with quiet pride and genuine warmth. Professionally, he spent a meaningful chapter working at Applebee’s as a bartender, where his dedication and easygoing charm made him a favorite among colleagues and regulars alike.
He will be remembered for his kindness, humor, and an unmistakable belly laugh that rolled through the room like a favorite song. Never loud, yet always uplifting, it touched those around him and remains part of the memory he leaves behind.
Mark is survived by his loving and devoted mother, Gloria Sawyer Coolidge; his sisters, Paula Andersen, Kathy Turner, Stephanie Slater, and Ceci Coolidge; as well as cherished nieces, nephews, extended circle of family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Mark Coolidge; his brother, Doug Coolidge; and his beloved dog and companion, Samson.
Mark’s spirit endures in the songs he played, the meals he prepared, and the love he gave so freely. His legacy, like a favorite melody, will continue to echo in the hearts of all who knew him.
A celebration of life gathering for Mark have been postponed until a later date.
