Marlene J Mothershed

Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, Julia ‘Olga’ and Eugene Venega. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Randy Mothershed, Sr; her son, Randy Jr (Victoria); and her daughter, Amanda. She is also survived by her beloved granddaughter, Ryleigh (15), and her sister, Darlene DiVittorio (Dennis).

Marlene retired from the Hillsborough County Tax Collector’s Office in 2012 after many years of dedicated service. A proud Tampa native, she enjoyed visits to Disney World with their annual passes, a shared love of The Beatles with her husband, and cheering on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Lightning, and Rays. She took great joy in her roles as a devoted wife, loving mother, and proud “Nana,” and treasured time spent with her family.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at 11:00 am at Garden of Memories, located at 4207 E. Lake Avenue, Tampa, FL. A graveside service will immediately follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Marlene’s memory to Metropolitan Ministries of Tampa Bay at https://www.metromin.org/. Marlene supported the organization annually, donating a trunk full of toys and food during the holiday season.
