BOLAND, Martin Joseph,76, of Tampa, passed away on December 7, 2016. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Bernadette (Lavelle); daughters, Elizabeth Salazar (Richard) and Suzanne Pope (Jim); granddaughters, Katie and Lilly Pope and Claire and Julia Salazar; sister, Ann; along with many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Pete and Winifred and brother, James. After graduation from Fordham University, Marty joined the US Marine Corps. Upon discharge, he began his long and distinguished career of 33 years as a Special Agent with the FBI. He worked in St. Petersburg, North Carolina, New York and Tampa. In 1998, he joined the State Attorney's Office until retirement in 2005. Marty had a great love of his country, God, family, friends and his Irish heritage. The family wishes to thank all the agents and friends who stood by him until the end. A grateful thank you goes to Dr. K. Almhanna and the staff at Moffitt Cancer Center. A visitation will be held at the Blount & Curry Funeral Home- Carrollwood Chapel, 3207 W Bearss Ave, Tampa, Florida 33618 on Monday, December 12, 2016 from 4-7pm and a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Paul's Catholic Church on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at 10 am. Interment will be at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida at 1pm with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Moffitt Cancer Center.
