Mrs. Mary Gettman

GETTMAN, Mary Madeline, of Tampa, was born on December 20, 1920 in Tioga, WV to the late Millett H. Bailey and Servia Louise Bailey nee Curry. She passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at the age of 93. Mary was an avid golfer and bridge player at Carrollwood Country Club. She won several club handicap championships during her playing days in two states with the most recent trophy being awarded at the age of 91. She was also very fortunate to have traveled all over the world with her husband Alex. She will be fondly remembered as a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her loving husband, Alex Gettman and her sister, Merle Frey. She is survived by her brother, Millett Bailey; son, David Gettman and wife Marianne; daughter, Ann Zaharis and husband Jim; grandchildren, Kim, Doug, Kara, Alissa and Julianne. Also surviving are nine great grandchildren. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at a later date.
