One of my strongest memories is the relationship that Mary enjoyed with my mom, her older sister. Not only were they sisters; they were best friends. 

This connection was so strong, that it seemed they knew what the other was thinking, even while separated by many miles.

One day, my family and I were visiting Mom and Dad. Mom was sitting in the chair as we talked. Suddenly, she stood up and walked to the counter to pick up the phone. 

"Mom, what are you doing?"
"I'm going to answer the phone."
"But the phone isn't ringing."
"Yes, but Mary is about to call."
And at that very moment, the phone rang!

This is just an example of the many years of close fellowship they enjoyed. Mary and Mac were faithful, loving, and giving. I so appreciated their devotion to Jesus Christ, to each other, and to us. 

I had the pleasure of visiting Mary two years ago in her retirement community. Even then, she was ready to depart this world and enter eternity. I know she is celebrating.

We are so sad that Aunt Mary is gone BUT so happy the she is now with Uncle Harold.  We enjoyed trips to Florida the see Aunt Mary and play cards with her.  She said it always kept her mind sharp. She did not need to play cards because she was always sharp as a tack.
She imparted such wisdom to both of us and kept us up on what was happening with the rest of the family.  We will miss her so much.  She was by far my Favorite Aunt. Hope she is telling Uncle Harold not to spend to much money at the store. ( This is a story for later) Was so funny.

Mary was a very special person - loving, kind, caring, strong, independent.   I was fortunate to know her and share the benefit from all these traits.   I felt a closeness with her and she will always have a place in my heart.  I will smile whenever I think of her.

     In 1997, Mary helped planned for her older brother's Surprise 50th Wedding Anniversary on 7-9-1999.  She was able to bring her older sister Grace and convince her other older sister Roberta to come.  It was such a reunion with many tears, especially since Roberta hadn't seen her older brother, Lewis Robert Miller in 30 years.  
     In 2009, I convinced her to come see her older brother, Lewis (my Dad) once again.  She and Harold was able to visit again in June - July on 2009, thankfully.  Lewis passed away less than 10 months later.  Wonderful memories!

Sweet little Mary!  I do remember her always being out in the yard pulling weeds or washing windows - even with her walker!  

Mary was a wonderful lady and a good neighbor.  After Mr. Mac had passed, I remember that she asked the guest speaker at our homeowners' meeting if his Desert Rose bush was not blooming as well as it once had because it missed him so.  We all just knew that it was really an expression how much she was missing him.    Surely now she is happy to be with him again.

Dear Tina and family,
Your mom was a beautiful lady inside and out. She loved her family fiercely. She made the best Harvard beets and Strawberry jam I've ever had.  I know she will be missed by all of you. But I also know, Mr. Mac has been patiently waiting for her.

My overwhelming memory of Ms Mary is her determined plight to remove every sprig of weed com her lawn. There she would be sitting in the grass pulling weeds by hand, bucket by bucket. I tried to pursued her to allow me to spray the yard with herbicide thinking I was being helpful. She gently informed me that this is her "me time!" She offered to share this time if I wanted to help pull weeds. I soon found out that I wasn't worthy enough to invade her solitude. Luckily, this act didn't negatively effect our relationship.

Her name for me was Georgie. Ms, Mary knew that anything she wanted my help on, was only for her to ask. Wherever I would go to their house,  Mr Mac would announce to Ms, Mary that her boyfriend was here. 

Mr Mac and Ms Mary was loved by everyone in the Stafford Woods cul-de-dac and considered as our adopted parents. 

Although, I'm saddened by her death,  my knowing that she and Mr Mac are once again rejoined puts a smile on my face.

To Mary's family and friends, I am so sorry for your loss.  I worked with Tina and Mary at Honeywell/Sypris.  Mary was such a joy to be around.  She always had a smile on her face & great sense of humor!  It was fun to see mother/daughter working together as I and my mother were also a mother/daughter team!
