Mary Katherine Southwick

Southwick, Mary Katherine, 91, of Lutz, passed away on Feb. 10, 2017. A life-long Tampa resident, Mary was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She is predeceased by her Jefferson High School sweetheart and husband of 73 years, Russell, and son Richard. She is survived by sons Loren (Bonnie), Dale (Francine), Mark (Lindy), Paul (Susan), daughter Mary Lynn Spano, eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. In her early-wedded years Mary was a full time Mom and was active in her children’s school activities. She served as Sacred Heart Academy PTA President. Later in life she worked for Eastern Air Lines, sold real estate and was a Busch Gardens costume seamstress. An active member of Sacred Heart Parish, she was a docent for church tours and long-time brownie maker in chief for the Tuesday night Bible Study class. She, with Russell, won the prestigious St Jude Diocesan Award for distinguished and outstanding service. Visitation will be at Sacred Heart Church in Tampa on Friday, February 24th at 9AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM.
