

Matt was born in Augusta, Georgia, on June 5th, 1959. He attended the University of Georgia and graduated with honors from San Diego State University.
Matt’s career in the television industry began in Augusta, Georgia, as a videographer at WJBF-TV. His next stop was Los Angeles, California, where he was employed by Metromedia, one of the leading broadcasters in the television industry. As a videographer and post-production editor in the news division, his work garnered a coveted Emmy Award for best local broadcast team.
Matt was a daredevil at heart, competing nationally in motocross and jet ski racing. He was a contributing writer for a jet ski magazine as well. Matt began skydiving in 1997, where he met his wife, Maureen O’Brien. He earned his Tandem Skydiving Instructor rating and made over 1600 jumps. Maureen and Matt shared a love for each other and the sport for nearly 28 years and spent the last 17 years together in Tampa, FL.
Matt earned his commercial pilot’s license, working as a skydiving pilot and as a banner tow pilot in many locations, including California, Hawaii, Pennsylvania, and Florida.
Matt’s life touched so many people. He loved his family, he loved his friends, and he loved his community.
Matt is preceded in death by his parents, John Albert Radeck and Patricia O’Connor Radeck.
He is survived by his wife, Maureen O’Brien, and his siblings: John O’Connor Radeck (Terryl), Janet Radeck Bonifer, and Julie Radeck Harari(David). Additionally, he is survived by his nieces and nephews: Ashley Radeck Womack (Daniel), John O’Connor Radeck Jr (Lauren), Philip Wilson Radeck (Anna), Adam Patrick Bonifer, John Alexander Bonifer, Jonathan Radeck Harari, Caroline O’Connor Harari; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Matt will be remembered with a smile on his face, joy in his heart, and a spirit that was always ready for the next adventure! He will forever be in our hearts.
