

Barbone, Michael Joseph entered into eternal rest on February 15, 2025. He was born October 16, 1960 in Toledo, OH to Theodore M. Barbone and Annette (Sturm) Searfoss. He was raised in St. Louis, MO, having attended Parkway North High School (class of 1979). He was an Eagle Scout with 6 palms. Mike earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Alabama; his Masters of Business Administration from Regis University, and his Juris Doctor from St. Louis University School of Law. Mike practiced law in Tampa for a number of years and took pride in serving his clients. He was chief legal counsel of Double Z Enterprises, a broadcast corporation. He then was a Telesales Supervisor and Business Sales Manager for Verizon Wireless. For the past eleven years Mike has been a Field Manager and sales agent in the Medicare, life, health and annuity industry. He was an adjunct professor at Mid-America Paralegal Institute and has published articles and delivered presentations on numerous professional topics.
Mike has served St. Mary Catholic church (Tampa) for many years as a member of the pastoral council, Renew 2000 facilitator and member of St. Vincent DePaul Society. He was also a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus and served as a District Deputy, Faithful Navigator, Grand Knight, Trustee and many other offices. He strived to live his life following the principles of charity, unity, fraternity and patriotism and was known for his many acts of volunteerism and charity to the community and persons in need. Mike was also active in Toastmasters, AARP, Tampa Italian Social Club and local organizations dedicated to serving Senior citizens and persons with disabilities.
Mike is survived by the love of his life, wife Susan (Bloom) Barbone, his sister, Michelle Barbone; his sister-in-law, Maureen Klear,;sister, Jennifer (Bryan) Shaw; brother, David Searfoss: parents in law, Lenny and brother and sister in law, Jamie and Tatyana Bloom; nephew, Jacob Bloom; niece, Jacqueline Bloom; cherished cousins, Tami Tima Burk (David Burk), Laura and Brian Seybert, Mike and Jean Wolf, Louis and Jennifer Barbone, Mark Barbone, and their families. Also surviving are a beloved uncle, John Barbone; aunt, Carolyn (Bill) Jayo and longtime family friend, Jack Fansher. Mike was predeceased by his mother and stepfather ,Annette and David (Bill) Searfoss, and his father, Ted Barbone and his mother in law, Marcia Bloom.
Mike enjoyed sports and was thrilled to be fortunate to see repeated national championships by his alma mater, the University of Alabama, the St. Louis Cardinals, the Tampa Bay Lightning and the St. Louis Blues. He enjoying traveling and visited 42 of the United States. Mike especially loved animals and always had companion animals. He believed you could measure a person by how they treated other people and animals.
A visitation will take place on Friday, February 28, 2025 from 4-6pm at Blount and Curry Funeral Home located at 3207 W. Bearss Ave Tampa, FL. 33618. A memorial mass to celebrate Michael's life will take place at 10am on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at St. Mary's Catholic Church located at 15520 N Blvd Tampa, FL. 33613.
Arrangements are being provided by Blount & Curry Funeral Home, Carrollwood Chapel.
Interment will be at Garden of Memories Cemetery, Tampa.
