

Mom came to Florida at 16 years of age and worked in a cigar factory. At 19, on December 30, 1950, she married Arthur Sweeting and had four children. Her world revolved around the family.
Mama Mickey was an entrepreneur of Sandwich Shop in Tampa and Key West, Florida, as well as a fertilizer company. Her hobbies included landscaping, gardening, and flowers. She loved playing games: Poker, Dominoes, and Parcheesi.
Mama Mickey is preceded in death by her husband Arthur Sweeting, Sr. and son Arthur Sweeting, Jr., sister Maria Gonzales, and brother Felix Gonzales.
She is survived by her sister Eva Gonzales, daughter Debbie Sweeting, sons Gregory Sweeting and Roland Sweeting, 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
A Visitation for Mama Mickey will occur Monday, October 18, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Blount & Curry Funeral Home at Garden of Memories, 4207 E. Lake Ave., Tampa, FL 33610. A Funeral Mass for Mama Mickey will be celebrated at 12 p.m., Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at Our Lady of Perptual Help Catholic Church, 1711 E. 11th Ave., Tampa, FL 33605. A Committal Service will follow at 2 p.m. at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park, 4202 E. Lake Ave., Tampa, FL 33610.
