Miriam another year has gone by. I still miss you very much. Christmas is almost here. I'm having Michelle and Chuck and Alex and Rachel plus her son Aiden over to celebrate Christmas 
 Bert will be here too. I know you are very proud of your children. You would love Michelle's husband Chuck. He's great and he loves her very much.  Rachel loves Alex very much and you would be proud of Alex how he has stepped in to be a dad to Aden. He bought a cute house and doing very well. I'm sure you were there to receive mom when she passed on St. Patrick's Day.  It was so difficult to watch her go, but I have comfort that she's with you and others she loved.  We all miss you very much I still think of you when I see dragon flies and remember when mom said she would send angels with us when we were driving to Miami for Michelle's Birthday, the two dragon flies that would appear every time  we made pitstops. Over the years I have looked for Miriam without luck,  and I have only sadness when I found this obituary tonight. Miriam and I were roommates at Cobleskill in 1975. Her  laughter and joy were complete and infectious- she was a wonderful friend who I lost touch with long before the days of Google and Facebook.  She was so special.  We became fast friends and had big adventures that year.  I can say without a doubt Miriam changed my life.

Bob and I was just thinking of you. Talking about funny memories we all shared.   Tomorrow it's his birthday.  It's been a rough year for him, but thank god he's doing well now. In 3 wks.  I'm going to Florida.  I know that every time I go to Florida you greet me because I stumble on something that reminds me of you. I remember when you and I  drove to Miami to catch a cruise ship to celebrate Michele's surprise 30th birthday.  Every where we stopped we had a dragon fly hovering by our wind shield.  I remember telling you "don't worry the angels are with us"  because, I knew how you didn't like to drive, and I was going to do all the driving, and we were alone.  So every time I get to Florida and I get in the rented car, sometime on my way home I'll see a dragon fly hovering by my windshield.  When I went to my new house in Florida there was a beautiful dragon fly by my front door welcoming me home. So now dragon flies are special to me now, because they remind me of you. Titi Miriam, my Aunt I love you so much. You gave me so much inspiration in life when at times I just wanted to give up. You are my voice of reason and always steered me in the right direction when I was lost. You are the best aunt anyone could ever ask for and no one can take that from you. You will forever be in my heart and soul. I am so thankful to have called you my Aunt (Tt), my second Mother. I will always remember your smile and that tone in your voice when you spoke to me like a mother figure. I'm going to miss that but most of all I'm going to miss you! Miriam was always a kind hearted woman who's face always held a ready smile. I have some fond memories of her in my childhood. She gave me one of life's greatest gift,  my baby sister. She did such an amazing job raising her,  that I know she will forever be proud of the woman Michelle had become. Her presence will be missed, but her influence will live on through her children and her family and friends. My condolences to you all. May God bless you Miriam. I once asked Miriam what image in her mind made her want to smile? She had such a beautiful one. I think of it now and it makes me do the same. 
She said the image was of her babies and she loved her children very much. We had many conversations at work about her family. My heart goes out to them. They have lost her so quickly and she had so much to give. She gave generously to all. She gave me the gift of friendship and I will consider her my guardian angel and inspiration to be a genuine person like she was to all who knew her.

To the Family of Miriam, I was fortunate to work with Miriam for a short amount of time..  She was so sweet, so kind and had a beautiful smile.  After she had to leave, she remained in our thought and prayers.  I pray that each of you who loved her so will find comfort in the memories and the promises of our Lord. I It was a very sad day when Miriam left this world.  She is now in Heaven and has already earned her wings.  Looking down and watching over her loved ones.  She is smiling that big smile and happy and whole. I loved her as my friend and will always remember the time we spent together.

We cannot even begin to understand what you and your family is going through right now. It is truly a both a sad day and happy day, sad because of the loss of our family member Miriam who we loved so very much, but happy because she has reached her final place with god who have chosen her to be one of his Angles. We would like to offer our prayers and condolences to you and your family.

Miriam was a light in the world. You couldn't avoid smiling or enjoying life when she was around. It's fitting that her favorite color was yellow. In a world full of cynics, haters, and generally negative people Miriam was a true optimist. She was such an amazing and loving person. It's rare to meet someone who wholeheartedly enjoys life. Miriam didn't get to live the high life and sometimes she didn't get the appreciation she deserved but she lived every moment with such unadulterated joy. She's an inspiration to us all to enjoy every moment of life and to celebrate the simple things. When I look back so many of my happiest memories were with Miriam. She was honestly one of my favorite family members, which is ironic because we weren't blood-related. But she proved to be a second mother to me. She inspired me by showing me there are opportunities out there. Losing Miriam cuts like a knife because she was such an amazing part of the lives of everyone who met her. But rather than let sadness overtake me I will take a page from Miriam's book. I'll enjoy a sunny day, a piece of cake, or something I find beautiful in the world. It's the simple things in life that make it worth living. In looking through these pictures and reflecting on family memories, Miriam made the most of every second of her life. I will miss her more than I can even put into words at this moment. But to honor her and all of our happy memories I will commit to smile more, live in gratitude, and enjoy each precious moment. Miriam I love you, miss you, and treasure having had the privilege to know you!

My heart goes out to the Venegas Family. I was blessed to meet Miriam through my years of service with Alberto in the Air Force. Not a finer person there was. Caring, kind with a heart as big as the sun, what Miriam lived for was her love of life and love of family. Having moved across the country,despite the distance, my talks with Miriam always made me feel she was just around the corner. I will miss her. 
Rest well my dear friend and know you made the world a better, happier place.

I remember in the good old days, when we wrote each other; you know, before the internet boom! It was always funny writing "Dear Miriam", and ending with "Love, Miriam". I used to ask my brother if it was "funny" to him, that his wife and sister shared the same name, and we'd always laugh. Our name is so rare to hear, it was always kind of funny that we did share that. You were "quiet" but knew how to have a good time. We had many laughs, but didn't get to spend near enough time together. It was great to see you, even in your illness. I will cherish those moments as we exchanged "I love you" to each other and hugs. I know you fought the fight, and my heart goes out to those closest to you. I have no doubt that you are with our Father in heaven, for you were an angel right here on earth. You will always be missed, and never forgotten. You were humble and kind and it didn't go unnoticed. My heart breaks for those of us left behind, until we meet again...

Miriam was a kind, loving, nurturing & forgiving person. Her infectious smile would always light up a room. She helped me become a better father to Michelle by always including me on any & all decisions concerning our child. You can rest in iternity knowing that our daughter will always be loved, protected & watched over by Awilda & myself. Your early death hurts me to my core. Rest in peace, you truly did make a difference.

Miriam and I met when we were teenagers. She was from a small town and I was from a big city. She was sweet, quiet and humble, and I was street smart and bit of a rebel.  We became the best of friends.  We both shared many similar experiences.  We had our first child three months apart.  Unfortunately, we both became single mothers, nevertheless, this drew us closer allowing us to raise our children Michelle & Christian as siblings.  Because of our different schedules, we were codependent parents.  She was like another mom to my son, and I was like another mom to her daughter. She was kind, loving, and patient with them.  Later, she married my brother, now making her real family.  She had another child Alex who at birth looked and reminded me of my son Christian which drew me even closer to her.  Later, she introduced me to a coworker, now my husband Bob who has been wonderful through this difficult time.  We shared every holiday and family vacation and had the best of times. In 1997 they moved to Florida and it was hard for me and my son to get used to not seeing her every day.  We spoke on the phone almost every day she always asked me to move to Florida.  Now that we became of retirement age I was planning to move to Florida.  We'd joke around about all the things we were planning to do.  But God had other plans and took her from us too soon.  She touched all our hearts in every way. I guess God needed another Angel. What I've learned from her is not to sweat the small stuff and to keep smiling. Her signature smile is what I will think of when I miss her and I'm feeling sad.  Good bye Miriam, I love you, until we meet again.

Miriam you are the Love of my life and Sweetheart who I thank God every day for having you in my life.

 I have told her this many times that she is the best thing that ever happen to me. She is a loving mother and wife who always thought of others before herself. She took great care of our children and me with lots of love and care. She is beautiful inside and out and will be missed by everyone who has met her sweet way of being. She had a funny sense of humor which I will miss very much. We had lots of plans for the future, but God had other plans for her. I have to accept and know that she is in a better place with her family members who have passed on. She will always be the love of my life and I will always thank God for her. I know she will look after us from heaven.

My mom taught me about the type of person that I want to be loving, nurturing, smiling, and always showing me her love, understanding and affection.  If there is one thing that I never doubted was how much my mom loved my brother and I as we were her gifts and she let us know that everyday. I am brokenhearted as I am missing my mom and will miss her everyday. I was fortunate to have had her in my life.  A few days before her passing I had the privilege to have a heart to heart conversation with her and I will be forever grateful for that and even though her time here was short I know she had no regrets. Our conversation was fulfilling and we said goodbye for now and know we will meet again.  I know that the best way to honor my mother and her memory is to live a life she would be proud of.
While it's been difficult I am grateful for the outpouring of love, texts, phone calls, kindness and support that I have received from family and friends.  Thank you.
