Nicolina Genzale, age 87, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born in Greci, Avellino, Italy, she was the cherished daughter of the late Vincenzo and Emma (Meola) Salza.
In October 1959, Nicolina married the love of her life, Luigi Genzale. Shortly thereafter, they began their life together in the United States, building a home rooted in love, tradition, and family—a marriage that would last 66 beautiful years.
Nicolina is survived by her devoted husband, Luigi; her loving sisters, Celestina Norcia and her husband Matthew, and Filomena Giacubbo; her beloved children, Anthony Genzale, Lily DiBlasi and her husband Charles, and Emma Teto and her husband JR. Her legacy of love continues through her grandchildren Joseph and his wife Varenka, Nicole, Helaina, William, and Lily. She is also survived by her two great-grandchildren, Evelyn and Olivia, who brought her immense joy. Nicolina also leaves behind many friends and family whom she loved dearly.
A skilled seamstress for many years, Nicolina took great pride in her work before retiring. Her greatest joy, however, was her family. She treasured every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. In her leisure time, she enjoyed cooking and having big Sunday dinners for her family, doing crossword puzzles, watching her favorite soap operas, along with Court TV and Judge Judy.
Nicolina lived in Everett and Lynnfield, Massachusetts, before spending her later years in Tampa, Florida. She will be remembered for her warmth, strength, and unwavering love and will be deeply missed, but the memories she created will be cherished forever by all who knew her.
A service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, May 1, 2026, at Blount & Curry Funeral Home at Garden of Memories, 4207 E Lake Avenue, Tampa, FL.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hillsborough County Pet Resources Foundation, Inc. Her grandchildren are passionate advocates for animals, and she found great joy in the love and companionship their pets brought into their lives. https://hcprfoundation.networkforgood.com/
