Nita Mangahas Ocaya was 78 years old resident of Tampa, Florida. Passed on July 24, 2026. She was born in Norzagaray, Bulacan Philippines. She went to St. Anne's School of Nursing for Associate Degree and further pursue Bachelors Of Science in Nursing at Perpetual Help in the Philippines. She practiced nursing for 45 years in the Philippines, Saudi Arabia and here in U.S. She retired in nursing on 2015.
Nita loves to crochet dresses for dolls. She is fond of travelling. She enjoys cooking and known for her empanada in the Filipino community.
Nita joined her parents Godofredo and Anita.
Nita is survived by her husband, Prisco Ocaya. Son, Karl Ocaya and daughter-in-law, Catherine and their children, Lauren and Charlotte. Daughter, Karyl Altamirano and son-in-law, Aries and their children, Kaitlin and Avery. Survived by siblings, Aurea Bartolome, Reynaldo Mangahas, Nicolas Mangahas and Alfredo Mangahas. Survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Blount & Curry FH-Carrollwood, 3207 W Bearss Ave, Tampa, FL 33618, US, on August 2, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A Funeral Service will take place at Incarnation Catholic Church, 8220 W Hillsborough Ave, Tampa, FL 33615, US, on August 3, 2026, from 10:30 am to 11:30 am.
A Committal Service will follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home, 12609 Memorial Dr, Trinity, FL 34655, US, on August 3, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm.
