Olive Ann (Leitch) Liddil, 90 passed away peacefully on Friday December 24, 2021, in her home with her loving children and beloved dog, Charlie by her side. She was born on September 12, 1931 in Flint Michigan, to the late Clarence and Dorothy (Wilkes) Leitch. Olive Ann graduated from Brazil High School in 1949 and then went on to attend St. Mary’s of the Woods to study music. Olive met and married the love of her life, Ed in 1953.
Olive was keen of wit and an avid bridge player, who remained active in her bridge groups throughout her life, in both Brazil and her newly adopted home Tampa in 2011. Olive also was a veracious reader who was always engrossed in a novel, while watching the birds from her lanai. Nothing made Olive happier than to spend time with her family and many friends during the epic Atlanta Thanksgiving events, weddings and other gatherings. Throughout Brazil, Olive was known by many monikers, OA, Nurse, GiGi, All of Ann & All of Eddie, Honey and Maga. She was always at home and most comfortable with all of her “favorites”. If you knew Olive well, you were considered a “favorite”.
Olive was preceded in death by her husband Ed and her sister Shirley Mae Louderback of Brazil IN. She is survived by all three of her children, Beth (Liddil) Lewis of Tampa FL Sarah Suber (Brandon), Hannah Dineen (CJ); Terri Liddil of The Villages, FL Cassandra Hines (Shawn), Angela Mascari; and Thomas Liddil (Peg) of Sherwood, AR, Madilyn Pierce (JD), Audrey Threlkeld (Josh), and Davis Liddil (Leigh). Olive is also survived by 4 great grandchildren and 2 great grands debuting in 2022.
In honor of her wishes there will only be a small private service where we will celebrate the life of a wonderful wife, mother, grand-mother and friend; and lay her remains to rest next to her beloved Ed, at the Clearview Cemetery in Brazil, IN. She requested that in lieu of flowers, that donations be made in her name to the Clay County Humane Society.
See you in heaven….
