

Osbon Rolland "Buster" Elkes, 92, of Tampa, FL, passed away on August 15, 2024 in Nashville, TN. Born on August 11, 1932, in Tampa, FL, Buster was a man whose life was marked by devotion to his family, his country, and his numerous passions.
After serving honorably as a Staff Sgt. in the U.S. Army until his retirement in 1954, Buster embarked on a career that saw hin traveling across the nation as an installer for General Telephone, dedicating over 40 years to the company. His work ethic and commitment to excellence left a lasting impact on all who worked alongside him.
Buster was a longstanding member of Idlewild Baptist Church in Lutz, FL where he found great solace and community. His faith was an important aspect of his life, guiding him through many of life's challenges and joys.
A skilled woodworker, Buster's hands were rarely still; he found great joy in woodworking and making pens, a hobby that not only fulfilled him but also brought beauty into the lives of those around him. His creations were not just items of utility but pieces of art, infused with love and care.
He is survived by his daughter Robin E. Craven (Morris) of Clarksville, TN, son Eric R. Elkes (Laurie) of Dade City, FL; granddaughter, Erica Elkes; grandson Kyle Elkes; and great-granddaughter, Arya Elkes, along with many nieces and nephews. Buster was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Julia Faye Honeycutt Elkes and daughter, Diana Elkes.
Buster's legacy of wisdom, humor, and unwavering spirit will forever be cherished and remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His life was a testament to the power of nurturing strong family bonds, pursuing passions with zeal, and serving others with humility.
