Paloma Lucia Gonzales, born on December 11, 2017, went home to God on August 10, 2025. She was the beloved daughter of Alan and Lisa, sister of Ben, Rori, and Milo, granddaughter of Benito and Avelina, and Cecilio and Adelaida, and a loving presence to many family, friends, and caregivers.
Pal, as she was affectionately known, was often the brightest light with the smallest voice. Pal was non-verbal and used an eye-gaze device to communicate. She would show love by simply calling your name or saying “nice to meet you.” But it wasn’t rare that greetings were met with, “I want to go home.”
Pal was a hard worker. She regularly spent time in therapy working toward sitting, standing, walking, and communicating. She loved her time with her therapists and nurses, even more so if there was gossip.
Family trips allowed Pal to live an adventurous life. She had the biggest smile when immersed in color and sound. Her travels took her to the Monterey Bay Aquarium in California, The Color Factory in Chicago, and the Van Gogh Experience in Florida, where she shared her biggest smiles.
A wake service will be held on August 28th at 6:00 PM at Blount & Curry Funeral Home Carrollwood located at 3207 W. Bearss Ave. Tampa, FL. 33618. The family will begin to receive friends one hour prior starting at 5pm.
A Funeral Mass will take place at 10am on Friday, August 29 at St. Paul Catholic Church located at 12708 N Dale Mabry Hwy, Tampa, FL 33618.
Following the mass, family will receive friends for a reception followed by an internment at Trinity Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to: https://www.supportnow.org/paloma-gonzales
Funds raised will go toward covering funeral costs and starting fundraising efforts for PKS Kids.
Those who knew Pal will remember her for her sass as well as her calmness. While her physical presence no longer graces us, faith, compassion, and love for one another will keep her spirit close. We are eager to honor Pal in what we do and where we go.
Paloma will be interred at Trinity Memorial Gardens.
