

Patricia Louise Metziere “Pat” Barker passed away July 13, 2015 when her God opened the doors of heaven and welcomed one of his beautiful and hardworking daughters from her labors to be with him. Pat cherished her faith and lived a life filled with love and caring for all who came to know her. Pat was born in Tampa August 28, 1931. She was predeceased by her parents Emile and Carrie Metziere and brothers Mickie and Arnold. Pat is survived by Johnny, her loving husband of 62 years, sister Gloria Erskine of Lakeland and two other joys of her life, daughter Teri Simmons (Bobby) and grandson Robert John. Pat is also survived by nephews Mike, Bruce, Wayne and Arnie Metziere; and Dean and Doug Erskine of Lakeland; nieces Carolyn Bullard, Gail Self and sisters-in-law Pat Barker, Judy Matlock and Pat Menendez. Pat received her schooling in Hillsborough County Schools, graduating in 1949 from Hillsborough High School. Following graduation Pat was actively involved in Class Reunion projects and was Treasurer of the HHS Tradition bound KISMET service club. For twenty-five years Pat served as a teller at the Exchange, Peoples and Village Banks. Pallbearers will be Mike, Bruce, Wayne and Arnie Metziere, Roddy Alvarez, Earl Hamilton and Bobby Simmons. Services will be held Friday July 17, 2015 at Garden of Memories Funeral Home and Cemetery. Visitation will be 11:30am-12:30 with services beginning at 12:30pm.
