Patricia Louise Episcopo, 75, of Tampa, Florida, passed away on September 30, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of love, cherished memories, and a legacy of kindness that will continue through the countless lives she touched.
Born in Muskegon, Michigan, Patricia made her home in Tampa, Florida, where she built a beautiful life centered on family, faith, friendship, and service to others. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose warmth, compassion, and generous spirit made everyone around her feel welcomed, valued, and loved.
Patricia had a remarkable gift for making people feel special. Whether offering a helping hand, sharing a kind word, caring for someone in need, or simply making time to listen, she gave freely of herself without ever expecting anything in return. Her kindness was not something she reserved for special occasions; it was simply the way she lived her life. She believed in helping others, finding joy in the little things, and treating people with compassion and understanding.
Patricia devoted many years to the Lake Magdalene community, where she worked with young children and developed friendships and relationships that spanned generations. One of her greatest joys was watching the children she had once cared for grow up and return as parents, bringing their own little ones through the same doors. As the years passed, she even had the privilege of welcoming the grandchildren of children she had once known. These lasting connections meant the world to her and were a beautiful reflection of the love, kindness, and care she shared with so many families over the years.
Patricia held a particularly special place in her heart for children and animals. She possessed a natural tenderness toward those who needed extra love, protection, or encouragement. Children were drawn to her gentle spirit, and animals seemed to recognize her kindness instinctively. She believed that even the smallest acts of compassion could make a meaningful difference in someone's life, and she demonstrated that belief through her actions every day.
Although Patricia was known for her sweetness and gentle nature, those closest to her also knew she had a spirited, adventurous, and wonderfully playful side. She had a personality all her own, a sense of humor that could brighten any room, and a strength that was often hidden beneath her soft-spoken demeanor. She could be tender and nurturing one moment and fiercely determined the next, especially when it came to protecting the people she loved. Her life was filled with stories, laughter, memorable adventures, and moments that her family will continue to share for generations.
Above all else, Patricia's greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted mother to Allison and Adam, and her love for her children was unwavering. She took tremendous pride in their lives and accomplishments and remained a constant source of encouragement, comfort, and unconditional love.
But perhaps the role she treasured most was being “Mimi” to her beloved grandchildren, Rogan Michael Hearn and Ryland Selena-Rose Hearn. To them, she was so much more than a grandmother. She was a source of endless affection, encouragement, comfort, laughter, and love. Being Mimi brought her immeasurable happiness, and she embraced every opportunity to create memories with her grandchildren. The special bond they shared was one of the greatest blessings of her life.
To those who knew her, Patricia will be remembered for her beautiful heart, her gentle voice, her welcoming smile, and her ability to make others feel loved. She had a way of finding goodness in people, offering forgiveness, and giving more of herself than anyone ever asked. Her generosity was never measured by what she had, but by how much of herself she was willing to give.
Patricia is survived by her loving children, Allison Hearn and Adam Episcopo, their father Joseph Episcopo; her cherished grandchildren, Rogan Michael Hearn and Ryland Selena-Rose Hearn; and her beloved sisters, Pamela and Carol. She also leaves behind extended family members, dear friends, neighbors, and many others whose lives were made brighter simply by knowing her.
While her passing leaves an immeasurable emptiness in the hearts of those who loved her, Patricia's legacy is one of love, compassion, strength, and generosity. Her family will carry forward the lessons she taught, the traditions she created, the laughter she inspired, and the extraordinary kindness she shared so freely.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Paul Catholic Church in Tampa, Florida. A Celebration of Life will follow at Blount & Curry Funeral Home–Carrollwood, located at 3207 W. Bearss Avenue, Tampa, Florida 33618. Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and celebrate a life so beautifully lived.
