Patsy Ann Meyer passed away peacefully at her home in Tampa, Florida on Tuesday, August 2, 2016. Patsy was 78 years old, she had been in declining health for several years. She was originally from Paducah, Kentucky but had lived in Tampa for over 50 years. She is survived by her sister Pauline Johnson 91, husband of 50 years, Thomas E. Meyer Sr. and five sons; Eddy D. Winchester, Terry W. Winchester, Douglas E. Winchester, Thomas Meyer Jr. and James Mark Meyer along with 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Her parents were James Corey Elder and Mary Carrico Elder, her brother Raymond Jewell Elder, pre-deceased her. Patsy A. Meyer was born on December 6, 1937 in Paducah, KY approximately nine months after the historic Ohio River Flood. Patsy’s sister Pauline was 12 years old when her little sister Patsy was born. Her mother, Mary, let Pauline name her new baby sister. Pauline had attended a performance in Paducah that year where a little girl named Patsy Ann sang. The young performer must have made quite an impression on Pauline because she chose to name her new baby sister… Patsy Ann.
