Peggy was born January 13, 1942, in Tampa, Florida, to Charles Bennett and Stella Ann (Edenfield) Partridge.
While attending Chamberlain High School in Tampa, Florida, she worked part-time at J. M. Fields department store. After graduating in June 1960, Peggy was united in marriage to Jerald Boyd Edwards at Oak Grove United Methodist church in Tampa, Florida, on July 3, 1960. Over the next few years, she and Jerry had three sons: Randy, Mark, and Terry. For the first several years, Peggy stayed home and raised her sons.
Peggy met and dated Karl Edward Kromer for nearly 4 years before getting married on August 30, 1974. That great relationship brought two families together, quickly becoming “one”. We shared many holidays, reunions, birthdays, and family get-togethers with each other. Peggy and Karl loved to travel to places like Niagara Falls, Canada, visits to the Nations Capital in Washington D.C., camping in the Smoky Mountains, and many beach trips with kids in tow.
Peggy was a longtime member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir, and was a member of the OWLS (Older Wiser Livelier Seniors). She always looked forward to her annual retreat trips and fellowship with the ladies of the church to Leesburg, Florida.
A fond memory for everyone who knew Peggy well was no matter where she was, be it in a store, restaurant, in the car, or at someones house, she would spontaneously break out singing and initially scare everyone within earshot, (especially the kids). Then the laughter would begin.
Later in life, Peggy worked as a Quality Control Inspector at Shuron Continental eyeglass lens manufacturer in Tampa. For over 20 years, she worked at United Technologies Automotive Group in Tampa, where she was a Chief parts inspector, and retired in 2004.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Karl E. Kromer, and her parents. Peggy is survived by her sons, Randy (Shirley) Edwards; Mark (Tammy) Edwards; Terry Edwards; Michael (Janet) Kromer; Gary (Tracy Black) Kromer; daughter, Tanya Kromer; brother, Arthur Wesley Partridge; elevem grandchildren, Kassie; Tara; Justin; Logan; Brenton; Shannon; Autumn; Dylan, Houston; Zachary; Mackenzie; and three great-grandchildren, Cheyenne, Chad, and Savannah.
Her legacy lives on in the family she raised, the lives she touched, and the memories we all share. She will be deeply missed.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Blount and Curry Funeral Home, 3207 West Bearss Ave in Tampa. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., and the service will be officiated by Pastor Lynn Saynes, starting at 11:00 a.m., with the cemetery following at Oak Grove Cemetery located at 3212 W.
