Peter Frederic Faber

Peter Faber, 72, passed away in Tampa, FL on Labor Day 9/7, 2020 after a lengthy illness. Born in Washington, D.C. on October 8, 1947, he was the son of Frederic and Lucy Yates Faber. He grew up in Manassas, then Alexandria VA. He graduated from Hammond High school - class of '66 where he participated in wrestling and band. He continued wrestling at University of Virginia, and in the Air Force - second in the world in his time there. He completed Post Graduate degrees at George Mason University. He taught English and History at Langley High School in VA, and was the wrestling and track coach there many years.

Later, he became "Painter Pete" in his own business. He had many other interests as a guitarist, songwriter, playwright, traveler, videographer, He was Santa Clause at Busch Gardens. He was a courier in the D.C area for 25 years. He befriended many people and had a heart for the homeless.

His students messaged him on Facebook saying he was the best teacher they ever had. His friends have sent tributes to his friendship. He was a "Happy Man" and always said he had a "Good Life". He was confident and fostered love of life in others.

He is survived by his son David Faber and wife Meredith, grandson Jackson John, fiancée of fifteen years Gainor Hillegass.

He was "True Blue", loving and faithful to God, family, and country.

There will be a visitation from 5:30pm to 7:30pm on Thursday, September 24, 2020 at Blount and Curry Funeral Home located at 3207 W Bearss Ave. Tampa, FL. 33618. During the visitation, Father Bob will conduct a prayer service at 6pm.

On Friday, September 25, 2020 we will celebrate Peter's heavenly home-going with a funeral mass at 10am at St. Paul's Catholica Church located at 12708 N Dale Mabry Hwy, Tampa, FL 33618. Military Honors will be rendered at 2pm at Florida National Cemetery located at 6502 SW 102nd Ave, Bushnell, FL 33513.
