She was separated from her parents during World War II due to the occupation of her hometown of La Rochelle, France by the Germans.
She was sent to live with an aunt in the French countryside and reunited at the end of the war with her parents.
Upon finishing her schooling she moved to England to live with a family and learned to speak English. After a year she returned home and was able to get a job on the U.S. Army Post in La Rochelle as an interpreter. It was there that she met our father, John Meyle, who was serving in the U.S. Army. They were married in France and a year later stationed in Augusta, Ga. There were many reassignments over the years including a four year stay in Stuttgart, Germany. From Germany the final posting was Florida. My mother was a remarkable woman who through all the moves managed to raise four daughters and maintain a smooth running household.
Years later the marriage became strained and ended in divorce.
She was a woman of many talents. She made all of our clothes as well as her own. An outstanding seamstress, played the piano beautifully, loved decorating, very gifted at entertaining large crowds of people, as well as a gourmet cook.
After many years of working at an engineering company she would go on to meet the man who became the love of her life. Robert "Bob" Schneider. Through Bob's job as an engineer they traveled and lived in various countries. Sadly, after 11 years Bob passed away leaving a large hole in her heart.
In time she became more involved in various organizations such as the Art Guild in Plant City, volunteering as a Pink Lady, and working at the Strawberry Festival.
She eventually returned to work as the manager of a beauty supply house in Tampa for many years. Through her work there she became involved with the Cancer Society and helped many women going through treatment to select wigs. This was a very rewarding experience for her.
Our mother lived a very fulfilling and purposeful life. She will be missed by so many lives she touched. Especially her daughter's. Pat, Linda, Margaret and Theresa.
We love you so much mom. You will always be in our hearts. We were all proud to be your daughters.
We want to give a special thanks to Ramon, Myriam, and all their staff at Ramon Chang ALF for all the love and support they gave our mom.
Also, special thanks to Lifepath Hospice.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Pierre and Andre Sicard; sister, Didi Sicard; husband, Robert "Bob" Schneider; and Bijoux her beloved dog.
Survived by her four daughters, Patricia Shelton (Ron), Linda Strauss (Bob), Theresa Fauci (Joe), Margaret Meyle; grandchildren, Joseph Fauci, Matthew Strauss, Gretchen Schneider, and Erica Harris Schneider.
A funeral service for Pierrette will be held 2 p.m. Friday, August 25, 2023 at Blount & Curry Funeral Home at Garden of Memories, 4207 East Lake Avenue, Tampa, Florida.
