Raquel "Rachel" Pla

PLA, Raquel “Rachel”, 86, passed away on Friday, October 23, 2015 at Palm Garden of Tampa. She was a resident of Tampa and was retired from the City of Tampa. Raquel was preceded in death by her two sisters, Josefina Perez and Mercedes Benitez, and a brother, Peter Peralta. Survivors include her brother, Andrew Peralta (Conchita); daughters, Marta Mederos Miller (Johnny), Connie Mederos-Jacobs (Larry), Joyce Mederos, Darlene Pla-Tschantz (Rick); and son, Andrew Pla. Raquel leaves behind ¬¬8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was very fortunate in having a wonderful family. On behalf of the family, we would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful staff at Palm Garden of Tampa, Dr. Philip Atigre, Dr. Corliss Oliver, Dr. Marian Menezes, and the Gold Team with LifePath Hospice for the exceptional care they provided. The family would also like to give special thanks to Dr. Christine Lancaster and Dr. Brian Zebrowski for their miracles. The family will receive visitors 6-8 pm on Thursday, October 29th at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4207 E. Lake Ave., Tampa, FL 33610. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, October 30th at Garden of Memories followed by interment at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park.
