In Loving Memory of Redell Williams Haston, 76 of Tampa, Fl. A woman of faith, a heart of gold, and a life beautifully lived.
Redell Williams Haston was a woman of unwavering faith who loved and trusted in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She lived a life rooted in love, compassion, service, and kindness, leaving a lasting impression on everyone blessed to cross her path. She was a devoted mother of two, yet her love extended far beyond her own children, as she embraced, nurtured, and cared for so many others as her own. She was a beloved sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose presence brought warmth, laughter, and joy.
Born in Georgia to Reta Santy and Brook Williams, Redell eventually made Tampa, Florida, her home for more than 50 years. Though Georgia was where her story began, Tampa became the place where she built a lifetime of memories, relationships, and cherished experiences. She loved the Florida sunshine, beautiful scenery, diverse cultures, and, of course, the wonderful food that Tampa had to offer.
Redell was a woman of many gifts and talents, but one of her greatest gifts was her ability to serve others with a genuine heart. Throughout her life, she had the unique opportunity to care for people during some of their greatest moments and some of their most difficult. As a chef for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, she shared her love and talent for cooking, bringing people together through food. She also served as a supervisor at the Tampa Jail, where her work placed her among individuals from all walks of life. No matter the setting, Redell carried the same heart for people, understanding that everyone deserved dignity, kindness, and compassion.
Outside of her professional accomplishments, Redell found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved good food, fishing, beautiful surroundings, and spending time with those she loved. She was also quite the jokester! Her natural sense of humor could fill a room with laughter, often without her even trying. She had a special way of making people smile, lifting spirits, and turning ordinary moments into unforgettable memories.
To know Redell was to know someone who gave freely of both her heart and her time. She was dependable, thoughtful, generous, and full of wisdom. Whether someone needed a helping hand, a listening ear, a warm meal, a word of encouragement, or simply a good laugh, Redell was there. She believed in showing up for the people she loved, and she did so faithfully. Her love was not merely spoken; it was demonstrated through her actions, time and time again.
Redell was preceded in death by her siblings Judy Remberth, Alexander Williams, Janie Harris, and Edward Williams. Her family includes her two children, Sharon Spaulding and Lemans Haston; her beloved siblings Jacqueline Norris (Willie), Hazel Anne Williams, Sallie Buck, Joseph Williams, Clarence Williams, Jaudon Williams, and Ronica Mosley; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family members, and dear friends who will continue to honor her name and carry her legacy forward.
Although her earthly journey came to an end on October 7, 2026, the love Redell planted in the hearts of others will continue to flourish for generations to come.
Redell’s life was a beautiful reflection of her faith. She did not simply speak of God’s love; she demonstrated it through her generosity, her compassion, her willingness to serve, and the grace she extended to others. She understood that the greatest impact we leave behind is not measured by what we possess, but by the lives we touch and the love we give.
Redell Williams Haston will forever be remembered as a woman who showed up, gave wholeheartedly, laughed freely, loved deeply, and walked in the true image of God.
Her work on earth is complete, but her legacy of faith, love, laughter, and service will live on in every life she touched. “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.” Matthew 25:21
