Robert Allan Anderson

Born in Concord, North Carolina, on January 19, 1945, Robert was the son of Allan and Mary Rose Anderson. The family moved to Tampa when Robert was just six months old.

Robert’s life was marked by dedication, service, and a deep love for his family and community. He was president of his class at H. B. Plant High School and later went on to study History at the University of South Florida. During his time in college, he interned in Washington, D.C., for the Kennedy Administration. After graduation, Robert proudly continued his public service in the United States Army from June 28, 1968, to June 3, 1970.

Following his military service, Robert began a successful career at Maas Brothers, where he worked for many years before transitioning to real estate with Smith & Associates, where he found great fulfillment in helping others establish their homes.

A man of strong faith and unwavering community spirit, Robert was an active and devoted member of the Grand Villa Community. He was also a cherished member of the Villa Voices choir, where his kindness, gentle demeanor, and passion for life touched all who knew him.

Robert’s greatest pride and joy were his family and the many lives he impacted. He is survived by his loving wife, Alburta Glover Clewis Anderson; his three sons, Corey, Justin, and Trey Anderson; his three stepchildren, Peter and Clay Palmer and Margaret Palmer-Buerstner; 14 grandchildren; his brother, Gerard Anderson; his sister, Mary Sue Grey; and numerous extended family members and friends. Robert will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A burial service and reception will follow on Sunday, January 26th, at 10:30 AM at Blount & Curry Funeral Home at Garden of Memories, 4207 E. Lake Avenue, Tampa, FL 33610.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Robert's memory to a charity of your choice. Robert’s legacy of love, service, and dedication will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and all those whose lives he touched.
