CACCIATORE, Robert, 88, of Tampa, passed away March 19, 2018. Robert was a 1948 graduate of Hillsborough High and graduated from UF with a degree in Microbiology. He was employed at TB Hospital for many years as the head of the Research and Reference Lab. Robert also had many papers published concerning Mycobacteria. Upon his retirement he enjoyed extensive traveling. Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Nelson and Sara, brothers Tony and Louis. He is survived by brother, Johnny (Eleanor), sister-in-law Cheryl, devoted friend of 74 years, Henry Valdez, and his adored dog Sophie. A visitation will be held 1pm -2pm, with a funeral service at 2 pm, Thursday, March 22nd at Blount & Curry at Garden of Memories with interment to follow. A big thank you to Robert’s caregivers from Bright Star and Hospice.
He will be missed by his brother, Johnny (Eleanor), sister-in-law Cheryl, devoted friend of 74 years, Henry Valdez, and his adored dog Sophie who will cherish his memory.
