Robert “Bob” Wallace Fox, husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, Bible teacher, LSU alum and fan, engineer, friend, mentor and follower of Christ. Bob went home to his Lord and Savior on May 31, 2022, at the age of 61.
Bob was born on September 16, 1960 in Joplin, Missouri and grew up loving to water ski and read. Bob met his beloved, Sheila, when he was 15, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. And later, while attending Louisiana State University, married Sheila in 1981. While battling and overcoming Hodgkins, Bob graduated LSU with a degree in civil engineering two years later.
In 1987, Bob and Sheila moved to Tampa, Florida, where they raised their two girls, Rebekah and Rachel. Bob worked as an environmental engineer, and served as a deacon, student Sunday school teacher, and BSF children’s leader for many years. He enjoyed life’s simple pleasures like spending time with his family, cheering on his beloved Tigers and Tampa Bay sports teams, taking pride in his role as family grill-meister, walking his two puppies, and giving upside-down hugs to his grand children.
Bob and his family wish to express their gratitude to the staff of Advent Health Orlando, and all those who graciously cared for Bob during his health journey. Bob’s health journey was a long one, but filled with so much love and humility.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace and Leilah Fox. Bob is survived by his wife, Sheila; daughters, Rebekah and Rachel; son-in-laws, Benjamin and Austin; grand children, Rachel Beth, Lucas, and Hannah Kate; sisters, Nancy Gohr, Barbara Hall, and Jan King; in-laws, Elliot and Sandra Smith, Rick and Carolyn Combs, and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. Bob passed surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest, for Jesus.
His family welcomes you to join them for visitation, which will be held in Idlewild Baptist Church’s main sanctuary, on Friday, June 17, at 10:00 am, and is open to the public. The funeral service will follow immediately at 11:00 am.
