Robert Joseph “Jake” Jacobson 79 died on February 1, 2025, at St Joseph’s Hospital, Tampa, Florida. He was the widower of the late Ann Jacobson who died August 30, 2024. Born in Pottsville, Pa. on April 14, 1945, he was the son of the late George and Cecillia (Burkot) Jacobson. He was preceded in death by his brother William “Billy” Jacobson and his sister Jane Scott. He is survived by his sister-in-law Ginny Jacobson and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
He graduated from Marian High School, Coaldale, Pa. in 1963, and Penn State University, State College, Pa. in 1971. He worked in Central Booking in the Classifications of Hillsborough County Sherriff’s Office, Florida, and honorably served in the United States Army in Korea and Vietnam.
He liked watching baseball games on TV and played baseball in his younger years. He was an avid golfer for many years and loved his Philadelphia Eagles and Penn State Nittany Lions, of which he named his dog Nittany.
